Yesterday there was a ton of yardsales. Almost too many, I didn't even get to them all. I left the house around 6:30 a.m (there were several sales with a 7am start time) and was home around 10:30.
To see what others across blogland have bought at the yardsales this week visit the Southern Hospitality Blog
A nearby beach community had a community-wide sale. I bought a lot of stuff from one house which was more like an estate sale (but with cheap yardsale prices). One side of the driveway was lined with boxes full of .25 items and the other side of the driveway was .50 items. I bought the box full of old slides (from the 60's and 70's) for $3 from that sale. I think I want to look at them all before I sell them (there are people on ebay who buy miscellaneous family slides). Most are from the late 60's to early '70's. There are some really cool retro images on them. It's sad that no one from the family wanted them since I know you could pay someone to project the images onto a screen and then record them onto a DVD or something. (as usual, click on the pic if you want to see an enlarged version)
.50 package of vintage tube socks from Zayre's
.25 vintage beer tray
.50 - $1 each cookbooks
$2 new Folkmanis pirate puppet
$2 Lego Racer (new box)
.50 Lego Star Wars
$1 and $2 - packages of shower gels/lotions
.50 each - vintage telephones (too bad they weren't some funky color cuz if they were, they would sell really well on ebay)
$1 each - casual Bass shoes for me
$5 stack of Martha Stewart Food magazines
$2 nice Wilson softball glove
.25 ea - fluorescent marking paint, tire cleaner
.50 semi-used Bath & Body Works candle (for me)
$1 brand new large Yankee Candle (I will put away and re-gift it)
.25 vintage melted plastic popcorn Santa
.25 cut glass tray
.25 each - vintage Fireking
.50 each, pretty crystal candle holders
.25 vintage electric curling iron with wooden handle (scary - haha)
.25 Christmas pickle in a jar
free - tupperware keychain
$3 lot of family slides. I was randomly looking thru them (just by holding them up to the light - and I happened to see the plastic popcorn Santa in one of the Christmas slides)

Looks like you found a lot of great buys!!
I used to paint vintage phones--adding dots, flowers, dashes, etc. Very fun and super easy! Love your finds. I have the 3pc set of the harvest gold pyrex bowl with lid--it was a wedding gift in 1976! Hope to see you over my way soon...
Wow, you came home with alot of treasures! I think my favorite is the melted popcorn Santa. I hear those are selling well on Ebay. Careful with that curling iron!
My gosh, you found a LOT of stuff out there this weekend! Look at that old curling iron. Thanks for playing today!
Oh I used to LOVE Zayre's! The ones in Atlanta were great when I was an early teen.
Good deals. I remember Zayre's - the one I went to closed in the 70's.

Cool Fireking, my mom still has some just like it.
That's a lot of loot!
Growing up, my parents had that santa claus thing you got! I think they probably still have it up in the attic somewhere. I haven't thought of it in ages!
WOW it looks like you did VERY well at your sales this weekend!
Wow, some great finds! I was really interested in the vintage slides...didn't realize they sold on eBay. I also found an older phone (for free) but the ones that are red or other funky color are really selling! Thanks for sharing and hope you come by for a visit ...
I always love looking at your yard sale finds. You seem to always hit the jackpot.
You find the neatest stuff! I love those old telephones. They remind me of ones my granny had.
I'll give ya one dollar more than you paid for the new large Yankee candle! ;) I LOVE those!
Looks like you hit the mother lode! I love the phones!
It makes me sad that the family sold their slides. My dad passed away 3 years ago and my sister and I got all the old family slides. We had them scanned & put onto a DVD. Now I can print them out. They are priceless to me & I'm so happy I have them.
Wow, awesome finds! You did awesome!
I would love to find an old rotary dial phone in red or green--even gold. would just love it.
I collect all kinds of Pyrex and I know you got great deals on it.!
Super shopping!
Zayre's was a favorite store when I was a kid. Goodwill opened in the space that was left by the long gone Zayre's, making it a favorite stop for me, once again, in adulthood.
You found some amazingly fun items. I haven't started hitting garage sales in our new town (moved from PA to FL), but hope I am half as successful as you are.
Holy conoley! You found some great stuff at fabulous prices! Are you a serious bargainer or are the prices just low--or both?
Eve - the prices I paid on Saturday were the asking prices - I normally don't haggle. I'm lucky I live where yardsale prices are cheap!
I need to come a garage-sale-ing where you live!!! I'm loving those prices and those deals :)
