I know other people do this same thing so many of you already know this. I used to have a monthly very basic cell phone plan with T-Mobile. It was like $20 a month (which is $240 a year). I just wanted a cell phone so in case one of Jacob's teachers needed to get in touch with me while I was thrift store shopping, they could.
So then my husband heard that if you just used the T-Mobile To Go, you don't need a yearly contract, since you basically pay as you go. And if you loaded your phone with a $100 refill card (worth 1000 minutes I think) - all those minutes would be good for 1 year. And if you reloaded again with another $100 card before the old minutes expire, those unused minutes would rollover onto the next year. Clear as mud, right? So instead of paying $240 for a years worth of service, for the past several years, I've only been paying $100 a year (the cost of the prepaid minutes).
As I said, I really don't use my cellphone much so I really don't know how good this would be for someone who uses their cell a lot (I used my cell for a grand total of 262 minutes in the past year and I don't text). I really shouldn't say I don't use my cellphone much, cuz I do. It's my clock and my camera for taking pictures of food in grocery stores. I just don't talk much on it.

no offense, but you have so much processed food in that cart......
you have a child and husband you obviously love.....
plz consider.... health care is no bargain...... eating junk food and drinking highly caloric drinks with no nutritional value contributes to a host of health related problems. plz consider the long term.
otherwise, i really enjoy reading your post and think you provide a valuable educational service.
I use the same T-Mobile service. What's even better is we buy the refill cards for about $89 on eBay, so it's even less than $100 per year. Can't beat it!
Anonymous - thanks for your concern. Don't worry - I only drink diet coke so that counter-acts all the bad stuff. And didn't you see the fiber muffins?
Michelle - thanks for the tip. DH is due soon to reload his phone.
